DYE GARNERS 3RD CONSECUTIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK NOD
Sept. 21, 2011
Emmanuel's Ameena Dye has now received her third-consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honor. Dye has been voted the conference's top performing first-year female cross country athlete every week since the season opened back on Labor Day weekend.
Dye's most recent honor came after the freshman once again paced the Emmanuel Women's Cross Country Team, this time competing in UMass Dartmouth's Shriners Invitational. Dye, a native of Syracuse, New York, ran 1st for the Saints and 77th overall out of the field of 258 total runners. Her 5k time of 20:37 was at a pace of 6:35 per mile.
Dye and the Saints will take this weekend off, but return to competition on Saturday, October 1st. Emmanuel will compete in the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College.
