CROSS COUNTRY & TRACK TEAMS WIN 2009 STUDENT AFFAIRS AWARD
April 29, 2009
The Emmanuel College Cross Country and Track & Field Teams were recognized at the 2009 Leadership Reception on April 29th. The programs received the 2009 Student Affairs Award. The Student Affairs Award is presented to a club, organization, team, class, or group of students who dedicated and enhanced the quality of life at Emmanuel College and/or the surrounding community.
Within the past year, the nominee should have met the following criteria:
• Served as a positive role model.
• Exhibited school spirit, pride and/or tradition.
• Provided a service, which enhanced the quality of life at Emmanuel College.
• Exemplified positive leadership characteristics within its membership.
• Actively participated in campus-wide activities.
• Supported and adhered to College policies and procedures.
This year’s recipient is a group of students who are a team in every sense of the word. Not only do they represent Emmanuel by breaking records state-wide, this group of individuals is high-achieving in the community. Volunteering at the Brian Honan Road Race, the Great Roxbury Track Club Race, Reggie Lewis Center and the Boston Marathon, they are always giving back to the community. In addition to be tremendous athletes and volunteers, they are a group of high achieving academics, maintaining above-average grade point averages…Like other involved students being recognized, these students can truly be seen ‘running all over the place’
The recipient of the 2009 Student Affairs Award goes to Emmanuel’s Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Programs.
