Cross Country Travels to Lehigh for Paul Short Run

The Emmanuel College cross country teams traveled to Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5th to compete in the Paul Short Run, where the men’s team placed 30th led by team best Erik Brobst (Freeport, Maine) while the women’s team places 32nd led by team best Molly Winship (Boxford, Mass.).

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College cross country teams traveled to Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5th to compete in the Paul Short Run, where the men's team placed 30th led by team best Erik Brobst (Freeport, Maine) while the women's team places 32nd led by team best Molly Winship (Boxford, Mass.).

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • EC's Brobst was the pack leader on the day finishing the 8k race with a final time of 27:18.3, averaging 5:29.5 minutes per mile, placing 106th out of 362 overall.
  • Not far behind was Kyle Hajj (Methuen, Mass.) with a 118th place finish, completing the race in 27:30.5, averaging 5:32 minutes per mile.
  • On the women's side, first-year Winship completed the 6k race with an overall time of 24:37.1, averaging 6:36.2 per mile which awarded her 134th place out of 375 runners, while teammate sophomore Hannah Fitzpatrick was only three runners behind with a final time of 24:38.5.
