COLFORD RACES TO 3RD GNAC RUNNER OF THE WEEK HONOR
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore Sean Colford (Epping, N.H.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, after leading the Saints squad to a first place team finish at the 11th Annual Saint Joseph’s College Runnin’ Monks Invitational. Colford claimed individual medalist honors by winning the men’s 8k race in a swift time of 28:05.

Colford claimed individual medalist honors by winning the men's 8k race in a swift time of 28:05.
Colford led the meet's largest field, which included 120 total runners. He paced the Saints in the 15-team event, as Emmanuel notched 67 total points en route to the win. Norwich University claimed runner-up honors with 85 points while Johnson & Wales (121 points), Thomas College (129) and Saint Joseph's (136) rounded out the top five.
This is Colford's third GNAC Runner of the Week honor. He also received the conference recognition after the first two weeks of the season, when he paced the Saints at the Fens Classic and at the Roger Williams University Invitational.
Colford and the Saints will be back in action this Friday night, October 18th, at the 7th Annual Saints Invitational. The men's 8k begins at 4:45 PM at Franklin Park. On Saturday, November 2nd, Colford and the Emmanuel team will return to Standish, Maine, where they will tour the same course, as they compete in the GNAC Cross Country Championship.
