BUKOWIEC NAMED GNAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Emmanuel College freshman Max Bukowiec (York, Maine) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Menââ¬â¢s Cross Country Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman Max Bukowiec (York, Maine) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. This marks the second time this season that an Emmanuel rookie runner has received the honor as freshman Thomas Tallo (Lincoln, R.I.) earned the recognition during the week of Sept. 10.
This past weekend, Bukowiec ran at a 5:57/mile clip to finish the Pop Crowell Invitational in 29:33 for a new personal best 8k time. His time helped lead the Saints to a 10th place finish out of the 25 team field in the race hosted by Gordon College.
Before enrolling at Emmanuel, Bukowiec was a three-year member of the varsity cross country team at Tyngsborough High School. He was named team captain as a senior and was honored as a MID Wachusett League All Star as a senior in. While at THS, Bukowiec was also a four-year varsity track & field member serving as a two-time team captain.
