TRACK TEAMS CELEBRATE SENIOR NIGHT

Emmanuel celebrated the careers of the seniors on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field programs on February 26th at halftime of the men's basketball GNAC quarterfinal game. The Saints honored the contributions made by the thirteen seniors, who have been a part of the three programs at Emmanuel for the past four years. The seniors and their family members were honored at midcourt with their coaches: Tony DaRocha, Alice Kramer, and Serghino Rene.
Robert Allen (Plymouth, MA) has been the track & field team captain for the past two years. Rob was the first Emmanuel male track athlete to earn All-New England honors during his freshman year. He is also the only Saint to have earned two All-New England honors. He is the current indoor track school record holder in the 55 meters, 55 meter hurdles, 400 meters, long jump and a member of the 4 by 400 meter relay. He also holds the outdoor track school record in the 200 meters, 110 meter hurdles, long jump, the 4 by 100 meter and 4 by 400 meter relay teams.
Keelyn Blanchfield (East Thetford, VT) has been a member of the cross-country team for all four years at Emmanuel. She has helped the Saints finish in the runner-up position at the GNAC Championship the last two years. She is the indoor track record holder in the 500 meters and 600 meters. Keelyn also holds the outdoor school record in the 400 meters and 400 meter hurdles. She was also a member of the school record 4 by 100 meter and 4 by 400 meter relay teams.
Ryan Bringhurst (Walpole, MA) is the current captain of the indoor track team. Ryan has been one of the hardest working individuals on the indoor and outdoor teams all four years. He is the consummate team player and is always there ready to support his teammates.
T.J. Griffis (Green Harbor, MA) has been the captain of the cross-country team since his sophomore year. He earned All-Conference honors his freshman season as he helped lead the Saints to their best finish ever. T.J. holds the cross-country freshman record for the 8k distance. He also holds the indoor record in the 1000 meters, mile and 5000 meters. T.J. was also a member of the record setting 4 by 800 meter and distance medley relay team.
Matt Hickey (North Attleboro, MA) has been a member of all three teams for the past four years. He was the captain of the cross-country team this past fall and the current captain of the indoor track team. Matt holds the indoor school record for the 600 meters and 800 meters and is also a member of the 4 by 400 meter, 4 by 800 meter and distance medley relay teams. He also holds the outdoor school record in the 800 meters and was a member of the 4 by 400 meter relay team.
Kristen Impastato (Seabrook, NH) has been a hard working member of the cross country team for the past four years. She was also a member of the indoor and outdoor teams her first two years. You can always be counted on to have a smile and positive thoughts for everyone.
Emily McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) joined the cross-country team during her junior year and had an immediate impact on the team. She earned All-Conference honors this year as she helped the Saints finish in the runner-up position for the second year in a row. Emily was a vital member of the 4 by 800 meter and distance medley relay teams that broke the school record this year. She will be the captain of the outdoor track team this spring.
Samantha Scola (Medford, MA) has been a member of the cross country team for the past three years. Samantha has always worked hard to help the team in anyway she can. She has also been a member of both the indoor and outdoor track teams. She is the current captain of the outdoor track team.
Michael Thurnauer (Reading, MA) has been a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams for all four years. He holds the indoor record in the triple jump and was a member of the 4 by 200 meter, 4 by 400 meter and distance medley relay teams. Mike also holds the outdoor record in the 400 meter hurdles and he is a member of the record setting 4 by 100 meter and 4 by 400 meter relay teams.
Megan Barrows (West Springfield, MA) competed in her first season of track & field last year. She improved each week in the javelin last year. She is a hard worker with a great attitude who should improve tremendously this year.
Brittany Bushman (Portsmouth, NH) joined the team during her junior year after not competing for two seasons. She established the Emmanuel record for the javelin and earned All- New England honors with her 5th place performance at the New England Division III Championship.
Anna Marie Podnecky (Bridgewater Corners, VT) joined the outdoor track team last year. Anna improved each week in the 400 meters and should continue to do so in the upcoming season.
