Robinson's Record Leads to GNAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors
WINTHROP, Mass. – A first and second place finish to start the Saints 2024 Outdoor Track and Field season, including a new program record in the triple jump led to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference naming Saints junior Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) the GNAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday.
WINTHROP, Mass. – A first and second place finish to start the Saints 2024 Outdoor Track and Field season, including a new program record in the triple jump led to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference naming Saints junior Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) the GNAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday.
In their first meet of the season at the Southern New Hampshire University Spring Invitational, Robinson set a new program record in the triple jump after a distance of 11.31 meters. The 37-foot-1.25-inch jump won the event on Saturday.
Robinson added a second place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.05 meters (16' 7"). The long jump on Saturday was only four inches short of the program record in that event.
The Saints return to the track next Friday, April 5, for the Regis Spring Invite at 2:00 p.m. They follow that trip with the Jonathan Tymann Invitational at Gordon College on Saturday, April 6.
