Track & Field Shines at Regis College Spring Fling
WESTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College outdoor track & field program competed at the Regis College Spring Classic on Friday afternoon with the women placing second with a 99-point showing while the men placed fifth overall with 41 points on the afternoon.

THE LEAD – The Emmanuel College outdoor track & field program competed at the Regis College Spring Classic on Friday afternoon with the women placing second with a 99-point showing while the men placed fifth overall with 41 points on the afternoon.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- First-year Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters followed by Sterling in second at 1.42 meters. Robinson also grabbed a second place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.69 meters.
- First-year Naomi Obenhaus (Sabattus, Maine) took home a win in the 400m hurdles beating the field with a time of 1:15.38 while senior Lauren Sterling (Rumford, Maine) took second in the 100m hurdle race, clocking in at 18.30 seconds.
- Saints senior Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) finished second in the 1500m race with a time of 5:06.20
- First-year Alyssa French-Graham (Waterbury, Conn.) represented well in the shot put with a toss of 10.22 meters to finish second and then registered a fifth place showing in the discus event with a throw of 27.85 meters.
- Senior Caileigh Blackmer (Warwick, R.I.) grabbed a second place spot in the hammer throw recording a 37.99 meter heave.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Jorge Zapata (Parkland, Fla.) picked up the win in the 1500m event with a time of 4:35.69 and also took home fifth in the 800m event, crossing the finish line in 2:04.96.
- Saints senior Joey Reed (Rehoboth, Mass.) claimed second place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.58 meters before finishing fourth in the long jump at 5.31 meters.
- Sophomore Joe Kanaan (Whitman, Mass.) had a nice showing in the hammer event with a sixth place finish with a toss of 23.98 meters.
- Junior Damon Ware (Hanson, Mass.) also placed sixth in the javelin with a result of 39.29 meters.
