Women's Track & Field Claims First Place at Inauguaral Seahawk Invitational
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Emmanuel Saints outdoor track & field program took to the inaugural Seahawk Invitational on Saturday with the women’s program claiming first place in the event after a 161-point total gave them a 39-point margin of victory over their nearest competitor.

THE LEAD – The Emmanuel Saints outdoor track & field program took to the inaugural Seahawk Invitational on Saturday with the women's program claiming first place in the event after a 161-point total gave them a 59-point margin of victory over their nearest competitor.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Saints senior Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) took home a pair of victories in the 800-meter and 1500-meter runs. Fitzpatrick came through with an 800-meter time of 2:31.68 while her 1500-meter run time of 5:05.72 would give Fitzpatrick another first-place race.
- First-year Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) was another Saints athlete to score two different first-place wins, both coming in the field. Robinson cleared the high jump bar at 1.53 meters to secure top spot and followed that with a victory in the long jump with a jump of 5.05 meters.
- First-year AJ Godios (Hamburg, N.Y.) earned the top spot in the 400-meter dash. Godios's winning time of 1:00.97 was just 0.17 seconds over the time to qualify for another Division III New England Championship event, as Godios has already qualified for D-III New England's in the 200 meters and the long jump.
- First-year Naomi Obenhaus (Sabattus, Maine) rounds out the first-place wins for the Saints on Saturday. A 400-meter hurdle time of 1:16.44 earned Obenhaus top of the podium in the event.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Saints senior Joey Reed (Rehoboth, Mass.) claimed second place in the high jump on Saturday. Clearing the bar at 1.65 meters gave Reed a runner-up finish in the event.
- Reed was joined by sophomores Colin Cronin (Amesbury, Mass.) and Cole Hickey (Tolland, Conn.), and senior Luke Elson (Ashaway, R.I.) for a second-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 47.47 seconds.
- Elson took third place in the 400-meter dash for the Saints with a time of 53.33 seconds.
- Sophomore Jorge Zapata (Parkland, Fla.) would claim fourth place in the 1500-meter run, following a time of 4:40.48.

- The Saints are back next week as they head for Regis College in Weston, Mass. for the Regis Spring Classic on Friday, April 8.
