SAINTS COMPETE AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL
NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Emmanuel College outdoor track & field team competed in its fourth tournament of the spring season Saturday afternoon at the Silfen Invitational. The Saints saw a new school record set by Jacquelyn Schneider (Weymouth, Mass.) in the heptathlon, her combine score of 3,550 was good enough to qualify for the New England DIII regional championship. Senior thrower Cameron Anderson (Watertown, Mass.) placed third in the shot put, setting the Emmanuel College record at 43’4.5”.

Ian Chamenko (Beacon Falls, Conn.) and Patrick Carty (Sweeden, Maine) placed fourth and sixth in the Steeplechase clocking 10:11.04 and 10:27.69 respectively. Erik Brobst (Freeport, Maine) led the Saints in the 1500m finishing the race in 4:30.24 while Katherine Holmberg led the female Saints runners with 5:30.48.
In the field, Ashley Brooks (Danvers, Mass.) placed fourth in the High Jump, jumping 5'0.25. Micaela Fraccalossi (Plymouth, Mass.) led the Saints in the long jump, improving her personal best to 15'7". Cara Welsh threw the Discus 87'3" to lead her teammates, while Anderson threw the discus 91'7" on the male side. Dillon Roche (Swampscott, Mass.), Amiel Howell (Boston, Mass.) and Christopher Rosario (Weymouth, Mass.) all set personal bests in the javelin.
The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, April 22 when they will travel across town to MIT.
