ANOTHER SOLID SHOWING FOR TRACK & FIELD TEAMS AT CORSAIR CLASSIC
DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Saints took to the track for their third meet of the spring season on Saturday afternoon at UMass Dartmouth’s Corsair Classic. Emmanuel posted several solid performances, including three wins, a pair of New England Division III qualifying times and 11 top-six finishes. The Men’s Track & Field Team placed 7th overall out of the 22 competing teams, while the women took 13th out of the 21 women’s programs.

Emmanuel posted several solid performances, including three wins, a pair of New England Division III qualifying times and 11 top-six finishes. The Men's Track & Field Team placed 7th overall out of the 22 competing teams, while the women took 13th out of the 21 women's programs.
Nate Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) and Ryan Thomas (Wakefield, R.I.) were stellar once again in their hurdle events. The pair took first and second in the men's 400mH with times of 54.95 and 54.66, respectively. Bruno turned in a 6th place finish in the 110mH, finishing in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.69. Thomas finished 9th in the 110mH, crossing the line in 16.35.
Adam Julien (New Orleans, La.) captured 5th place in the men's 200m. His time of 22.97 qualified him for the Division III New England Championships. Julien also ran his personal best time in the 100m, finishing in 11.54. Julien, Bruno and Thomas then teamed up with Ben Perdue (West Springfield, Mass.) to snag 1st place in the men's 4x400m relay. Their combined time of 3:24.98 qualified them for the Division III New Englands.
Meaghan Mauer (South Hadley, Mass.) finished 3rd in the women's 3K steeplechase with her time of 12:51.96. On the men's side, Corey Hebert (Acushnet, Mass.) grabbed 6th place in the steeplchase, crossing the line in 11:11.21.
Kelly Ulf (Lunenburg, Mass.) turned in a pair of third place jumps in her field events. Ulf's 3rd place long jump hit 15'7.50". She also tied for 3rd place in the high jump with EC teammate Ashley Brooks (Danvers, Mass.), as the duo reached 4'9".
Other notable personal bests on the day from the Emmanuel women included a PR of 13.50 from Shannon Gay (Woburn, Mass.) in the 100m, a PR of 5:25.06 from Julie Roberts (Williamsburg, Mass.) in the 1500m, a PR of 28.44 from Zoe Pierce-Dickens (Franklin, Vt.) in the 200m and a PR of 2:37.88 from Chloe Egan (Burlington, Vt.) in the 800m.
For the Emmanuel men, Chris Connelly (Quincy, Mass.) chased down his best-ever time of 36:15.30 in the men's 10K, while Richard Morrow (Woodstock, Conn.) launched his personal best throws in both the discus (60'4") and the javelin (81'9").
The Saints will be back in action this coming weekend, when they head back to Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 12th, for the Elmer Swanson Invitational. The field events are set to begin at 10:00 AM and the track events will kick off at noon.
