SAINTS WRAP-UP SEASON AT MIT INVITATIONAL

CAMBRIDGE, Mass - The Saints wrapped up their indoor season at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Coed Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Brittany Sorice (Dover, N.H.) improved her school record in the 600 meters, running 1:45.57. The women's 4X400 team, consisting of sophomores Kelsey Fitzpatrick (Milford, Mass.), Jessica Robinson (Holliston, Mass.), Irene Limlengco (Brookline, Mass.) and Sorice, placed fifth with a combined school record time of 4:28.29. Junior Megan Reichel (Mashpee, Mass.) placed second in the high jump, clearing 4'11''. Sophomore Victoria Cole (Carver, Mass.) ran her personal best in the mile with a time of 6:03.78.
On the men's side, sophomore Ben Cleveland (Auburn, Maine) won the 400 meters with a time of 52.90, while junior Dan D'Amato (Huntington, Mass.) placed fifth in the same event with a time of 54.44. Running 8.55, sophomore Thomas Ryan Maher (Gales Ferry, Conn.) placed fifth in the 55 meter hurdles. Freshman Wesley Cowles (Hebron, Conn.) ran his personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.80.
The qualifying male Saints will compete next week at the 2009 New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at MIT. The qualifying women will compete separately at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
