TRACK TEAMS COMPETE IN BU INVITATIONAL

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams competed at the highly competitive Boston University Terrier Invitational over the weekend. This meet typically attracts some of the top NCAA Division I and II programs in the country. The Saints came away with some excellent performances against such tough competition.
In the women's meet, junior Cathryn Lariviere (Windham, NH) broke the Emmanuel College record in her 3k race. Lariviere's time of 11:08.66 surpassed that of former Emmanuel star Betsy Suda. Sophomore Ashley Adamson (Scituate, MA) broke her personal record and just missed the school record in the 55meter hurdles with a time of 9.75.
On the men's side, freshman Ryan Maher (Gales Ferry, CT) tied his personal best in the 55meter hurdles with a time of 8.57. Senior Michael Thurnauer (Reading, MA) and freshman John Hieber (Peabody, MA) broke their personal bests in the 400 meters, with times of 54.04 and 58.57, respectively. Emmanuel's Kevin Ly (Portland, ME), Alex Lucier (Northbridge, MA), Rob Littleton (Plymouth, MA), and Sahib Hobby (New Haven, CT) ran their fastest times in the 200 meter race. Senior Rob Allen (Plymouth, MA) returned to action after recovering from a second knee surgery and came close to breaking his personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 23.88. The 4 X 400 meter relay team made up of Thurnauer, Littleton, Matt Hickey (North Attleboro, MA), and Allen turned in the second fastest time ever for the Saints' indoor squad (3:36.34).
