Indoor Track and Field Finish 2023 at UMass Boston Beacons Season Opener

A pair of Saints women posted a pair of podium finishes in the 1000-meter event with sophomore Sydney Gonzalez (Guilderland, N.Y.) claiming second place after a time of 3:26.57. First-year Eden Lewis (Manchester, Conn.) was over the line in third place.
Junior Cynthia Brito (Whitman, Mass.) reached the 10-meter mark for the first time in her career in the triple jump, placing third in the event with a PR at 10.01 meters.
Senior Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) placed fourth in the 800 meters after a time of 2:47.09. First-year Kendall Newton (Gloucester, Mass.) finished fifth in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:51.99.
For the Saints men, sophomore Pierre Paul Labossierre (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) posted a sixth-place finish in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.75 meters. He added an eighth-place mark in the long jump after a PR leap of 5.85 meters.
A pair of eighth-place finishes came from first-years Nicholas Ware (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Isaiah Etienne (Watertown, Mass.) in the 3000 meter run and 200 meter dash, respectively. Ware ran the 3K in 9:49.13 while Etienne posted a time of 23.23 in his 200 meters.
The winter break puts a pause on the Emmanuel indoor track and field season for a little over a month. The Saints return to action on Jan. 13, 2024, at the Reggie Poyau Invitational, hosted at Brandeis University.
