Bio

Olivia Berry was promoted to the Director of Athletics role on February 20, 2023, becoming the sixth AD in Emmanuel College history after six years on staff in various positions for the Saints.

Berry's full-time tenure began in the summer of 2017 as Head Softball Coach and she was promoted to an Assistant Athletic Director on July 1, 2021 after serving as the department's Assistant Sports Information Director for four years. Berry oversaw all scheduling and contracts for the department, was the Athletic liaison for academic eligibility and managed all duties and responsibilities of the Softball program through the 2023 campaign. She also has served as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for the department since September of 2020.

Berry posted 125 wins during her coaching tenure at EC, going 125-74 (.628) over six campaigns including a 62-14 (.816) mark in the GNAC. During the 2022 campaign, Berry became the winningest coach in program history and the first to reach 100 career victories with a 2-1 walk-off win in the GNAC tournament over Simmons University. She was named the GNAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season with seven players earning All-Conference honors and three being tabbed to the NFCA All-Region squad. Her 2022 squad finished the season with 26 wins, tying the program record for wins in a single season and along the way recorded a program-best 20-game winning streak.

Berry made history with the Softball program in 2021, leading the squad to their first GNAC Championship and NCAA tournament berth. In their NCAA tourney debut, the Saints posted a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Christopher Newport University before finishing the year with a 21-6 record. The team was ranked as high as No. 6 in the New England Regional Rankings and Berry was named the GNAC Coach of the Year while mentoring a conference-record 10 GNAC All-Conference selections including the GNAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Year as well as another two NFCA All-Region honorees.

Despite a shortened season in 2020, Berry coached the program's first-ever CoSIDA Academic All-American in a year when the Saints were tabbed No. 1 in the GNAC Preseason Coaches' Poll before the campaign was cancelled due to CoVID-19.

Berry enjoyed a strong 2019 coaching campaign that saw the Saints post their second straight 25-win season while also capturing a 15-1 record in GNAC play to garner the GNAC North Division regular season crown and #1 seed in the GNAC tournament. Her squad saw a league-high seven players earn All-Conference honors including the GNAC Player and GNAC Pitcher of the Year while also having another NCFA All-Region selection as well as a CoSIDA Academic All-Region pick.

In her first season as Head Coach, Berry led the program to 25 wins and an appearance in GNAC Championship Sunday. She coached four players to GNAC All-Conference selections, landing one on the NFCA All-Region team.

Berry earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Trinity College in May of 2014 and her Masters degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University in 2016.

While enrolled at Trinity, Berry was a four-year player and three-year starter as a catcher and designated player for the Bantams Softball Team. Berry captained the squad as a senior, leading Trinity in walks and on-base-percentage, while ranking third on the team in RBI.  She was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Sportsmanship Team following the 2014 season.

Berry has been the Head Coach for the Bay State Thunder 16 and Under Softball Team since 2012 and previously served as an Assistant Coach for the 18 and Under Team.

Berry held multiple extra-curricular positions in addition to her academics and athletics at Trinity, including serving as an intern in the Trinity Athletic Department and working as a fellow in the Career Development Center.  She also held an internship in the front office of the Brockton Rox Baseball Team during the summer of 2013.
