BOSTON, Mass. – Over the weekend of Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1, Emmanuel College hosted the 2022 Boston NABC Championship Basketball Clinic on the Andy Yosinoff Court inside the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) is a professional development and advocacy organization supporting coaches at every level of the sport. In collaboration with the Emmanuel College men's and women's basketball programs, the NABC welcomed over 300 attendees throughout the weekend to the Emmanuel College campus for the 2022 Boston Clinic.
This marked the first time the Clinic has been held at Emmanuel and featured several high-profile NCAA Division I coaches as guest speakers and clinicians. This list included coaches such as Ed Cooley (Providence College), Jamie Dixon (TCU), Steve Pikiell (Rutgers), Drew Valentine (Loyola Chicago), Vic Schaefer (Texas), Bill Coen (Northeastern), James Jones (Yale) and several other notables.
"It was an honor to host the 2022 NABC Boston Clinic," said Emmanuel Head Men's Basketball Coach Littell White. "To have our players, facilities and campus on display for coaches from all around the country was a very rewarding experience and our program was very fortunate to have the opportunity to interact and learn from some of the best coaches in the NCAA."
Clinicians used the Emmanuel men's and women's basketball programs as demonstrators on the court to run through drills, set pieces and offensive rotations while coaching attendees observed the practice sessions. The volunteer opportunity was a great way for both programs to give back to both the local and national coaching community.
"The NABC Clinic was great exposure for Emmanuel College," said Emmanuel Head Women's Basketball Coach Andy Yosinoff. "We have one of the best facilities in the Northeast and it was great to put it on display for such a first-class organization, while welcoming coaches from all over onto campus for the weekend."
The NABC runs similar clinics all over the country and Emmanuel believes the 2022 Clinic was the first of many to follow at 400 The Fenway.
"We'd love to have the NABC back every year," said Yosinoff. "This is a partnership where everybody involved benefits and Emmanuel loved having the NABC work in our beautiful facilities with our student-athletes."
