2022 Emmanuel College Athletics Senior Awards Announced

BOSTON, Mass. - The 2022 Emmanuel College Athletic Department Senior Awards have been announced, honoring a total of 17 student-athletes and three staff members.

Brown Named GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year; Franca & Srimouksavanh Honored

BOSTON, Mass. – First year defender Delaney Brown (Agawam, Mass.) has been named the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Defender of the Year, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Brown also earns a spot on the GNAC All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie team. Joining Brown on the GNAC All-Conference First Team is senior attacker Chandra Franca (Woburn, Mass.) while fellow first year Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.) earns Third Team honors as well as a spot on the All-Rookie squad. Senior Katelyn Hunter (South Windsor, Conn.) represented the Saints on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.

No. 5 Women's Lacrosse Faces Unbeaten, No. 1 St. Joe's in GNAC Semis

BOSTON – Advancing to the semifinal round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Playoffs, the No. 5 seeded Emmanuel College Saints prepare to face the No. 1 seeded Saint Joseph’s College Monks on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Saint Joseph’s Athletic Complex in Standish, Maine.

Late Surge Not Enough; Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 1 Saint Joseph's, 12-7 in GNAC Semifinal

STANDISH, Maine – Top-seeded Saint Joseph’s College (19-0) held off a late rally to defeat #5 Emmanuel College (10-9), 12-7, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s lacrosse tournament semifinal contest at the SJC Athletics Complex on Tuesday evening. The Saints outscored the Monks 6-2 over the final 27 minutes of play but it wasn't enough to knock off the undefeated GNAC juggernaut.

Franca Powers Women's Lacrosse Past Norwich in GNAC Quarterfinal Upset, 11-7

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Senior Chandra Franca (Woburn, Mass.) scored a game-high five goals to propel No. 5 Emmanuel College past No. 4 Norwich University, 11-7, in the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Lacrosse quarterfinals Saturday evening at Sabine Field in Northfield, Vt.

No. 5 Women's Lacrosse Looks to Avenge Senior Day Loss, Faces No. 4 Norwich in GNAC Quarters

BOSTON – After a highly-competitive Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular season, the Emmanuel Saints women’s lacrosse program has secured the No. 5 seed in the GNAC Playoffs. Following a season of 9-7 overall, including 9-4 in the GNAC, the Saints will start the GNAC Postseason traveling north to the No. 4 seed Norwich Cadets for a Saturday, April 30 faceoff at 5:30 p.m. Norwich complied a 12-4 overall record, that includes a 10-3 mark in the conference in 2022.

Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Lasell in Regular-Season Finale, 18-8

BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College cruised to an 18-8 victory over Lasell University on Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse action at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints received a combined 14 goals from their first-year players in the home win including a game-high five goal effort by Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.).

Women’s Lacrosse Suffers Senior Day Setback to Cadets, 14-9

BOSTON - The Norwich Cadets outscored the Emmanuel Saints 6-0 in the fourth quarter of a close Great Northeast Athletic Conference match on Saturday, allowing Norwich to walk away from Clemente Field with a 14-9 win over Emmanuel. Prior to the start of Saturday's game, the Saints women's lacrosse program honored seniors Jessica Borduas (Woodbury, Conn.), Emma Crowley (Peterborough, Maine), Chandra Franca (Woburn, Mass.), Lincoln Hamblett (East Boothbay, Maine), and Katelyn Hunter (South Windsor, Conn.) for their contributions to the program in a Senior Day ceremony.

FRANKLIN, Mass. - Saints senior Chandra Franca (Woburn, Mass.) scored seven goals for a second consecutive game while senior Jessica Borduas (Woodbury, Conn.) matched a career-high with five goals, helping lead the Saints to a 17-11 win over the Dean Bulldogs on Saturday morning in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play.

Franca Nets 100th Career Goal to Power Women's Lacrosse Over USJ, 15-7

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior midfielder Chandra Franca (Woburn, Mass.) scored a career-high seven goals including the 100th of her collegiate career to power Emmanuel College past the University of Saints Joseph (CT), 15-7, Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on the USJ Lacrosse Field. With the loss, the Blue Jays dip to 5-9 overall on the season and 3-7 in conference play, while EC improves to 7-5 overall including 7-3 in the league.
