Important Information about the Emmanuel College Fitness Centers 

The College will re-open the fitness areas for student use in the Jean Yawkey Center and the New Residence Hall on Tuesday, February 16^th. To accommodate students, the fitness centers are not open to faculty and staff at this time. The weight area in St. Joseph Hall has been designated for student-athlete training and is not open to all students. The New Residence Hall fitness is only open to those living in the building.

The hours for both the Jean Yawkey Center and New Residence Hall fitness areas are as follows:

To create the safest environment in light of COVID-19, the following rules and regulations have been put into place to align with guidelines from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts:

• Face coverings/masks are to be worn at all times.
• A cleared/green screen, along with an Emmanuel College ID, must be presented upon entry.
• Physical distancing of at least six (6) feet is required.
• Equipment must be sanitized before and after use by the user.
• To adhere to state guidelines, capacity has been reduced to the following at any given time:
  • Jean Yawkey Center: 8 total (4 cardio area, 2 free weight area, 2 weight training machine area)
  • New Residence Hall 3 total (2 cardio area, 1 free weight area)
• An appointment IS REQUIRED for use of the fitness centers. Walk-ins will be turned away by the Fitness Center Monitors. 
  • Each appointment will be 45-minutes in length. 
  • Each appointment is for a specific part of the fitness center (Cardio Area, Free Weight Area, Weight Training machine Area).
  • If you want to use more than one area, then a second appointment is needed at a separate time.
  • Occupants in the fitness center will only be allowed to use their specific appointment area during the time of each appointment.
• Additional directions will be posted within each fitness center.

• Check-In Procedures for Scheduled Appointments

  • When an appointment is made using the booking link above, you will be sent a confirmation email with a check in code.
    • If you receive this email, you're all set to attend your scheduled time slot.
    • If you do not receive a confirmation email, you'll need to attempt re-booking your appointment until you receive a confirmation. Without a confirmation, do not go to any of the fitness centers as you will not be allowed to enter.
  • When you arrive at the fitness center with your email confirmation, check in with a Fitness Center Monitor and scan the QR code that corresponds with the area of the fitness center you booked your appointment for (Cardio Area, Free Weight Area, Weight Training machine Area).
    • It will prompt you to type in the confirmation code from your email.
    • Enter code, then you are all set to enter.
  • Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointments. Your booking begins at the time you reserved with or without you present and will not be extended past the 45-minute slot if you arrive late.
