- Tied 7-7 at the half, the Saints outscored the Cadets 2-1 in the third quarter thanks to a pair of free-position goals for Franca, including one on a man-up opportunity.
- The Cadets were off and running in the opening quarter thanks to goals O'Neill, Etherton, and Furchak, helping Norwich to a 3-0 lead. The Saints beat the buzzer to end the quarter on a tally by first-year Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.), as EC trailed 3-1 after a quarter.
- Emmanuel harnessed the buzzer-beating momentum to run off the first three goals of the second quarter.
