SEVENTY-FIVE SAINTS EARN ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) released the names of student-athletes representing the twelve member institutions and 13 associate members, who were named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team. Among the 765 individual GNAC honorees, seventy-five Emmanuel student-athletes were named GNAC Academic All-Conference.

2013 MEN'S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Golf Men’s Golf program wrapped up its fifth season of varsity competition, enjoying some of the best scores in the program’s brief history. The Saints competed in a total of eight events including three two-day tournaments which were the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic , the 2013 ECAC DIII Championship and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship.

GOLF TEAM WRAPS SEASON WITH TOP SIX FINISH IN GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

CRANSTON, R.I. – The Emmanuel College Saints wrapped up the 2013 men’s golf season with their highest-ever finish in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship. The two-day tournament was hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Cranston Country Club over the weekend. GNAC affiliate member, Rhode Island College, captured the 2013 conference title, marking the third-consecutive GNAC Championship for the Anchormen. RIC senior Tim Leigh (Somerset, Mass.) took home the individual medalists honors and was named the GNAC Player of the Year.

MEN'S GOLF COMPETES IN ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP AT CRUMPIN FOX GOLF COURSE

BERNARDSTON, MA - Middlebury College took home the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men’s Golf Championship on Sunday, posting a two-day team score of 635. Nichols College sophomore Colin Whitney (Longmeadow, MA) was the top individual, registering a two-round score of 153 (78-75) to finish +9.

MEN’S GOLF NEARS SEASON-BEST AT USM CLASSIC

GORHAM, Maine – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team competed in the University of Southern Maine’s Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday. The two-day tournament was hosted by the Huskies on the par 72 course at Gorham Country Club.

SAINTS CAPTURE 3RD IN FIRST HOME MATCH

DORCHESTER, Mass. – Suffolk University took team honors in Wednesday afternoon’s men’s golf quad match played at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. The Rams combined to shoot a 321 on the par 70, 5,967 yard course. Newbury College snagged second place with a team total of 329. The host Emmanuel College Saints notched a 341 for third place, while Daniel Webster College shot a 356 for the fourth place finish.

GOLF TEAM DOWNS NEWBURY IN DUAL-MATCH

BROOKLINE, Mass. – Emmanuel College cruised to a 324-346 win over Newbury College in a Men’s Golf dual match played at Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course at Putterham Meadows on Monday afternoon. The Saints had previously dropped a match to Newbury, falling by 12 strokes just last Thursday. However, Emmanuel rebounded nicely, cutting 13 strokes off their team total from last week to come away with the win.

POCOBENE MEDALS IN MEN'S GOLF SEASON-OPENER

BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College golf team opened up the 2013 campaign firing off a 337 team score Thursday afternoon at Putterham Golf Course in tri-match action with Newbury College and Mitchell College. The Saints finished second behind the Nighthawks team score of 325 while Mitchell rounded out the group with a 392.
