GOLF TEAM DOWNS NEWBURY IN DUAL-MATCH
BROOKLINE, Mass. – Emmanuel College cruised to a 324-346 win over Newbury College in a Men’s Golf dual match played at Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course at Putterham Meadows on Monday afternoon. The Saints had previously dropped a match to Newbury, falling by 12 strokes just last Thursday. However, Emmanuel rebounded nicely, cutting 13 strokes off their team total from last week to come away with the win.

Saints sophomore P.J. Levesque (Norton, Mass.) earned medalist honors, turning in a scorecard of a 79, registering a match-high 11 pars on the day to lead Emmanuel.
Classmate Matteo Pocobene (Malden, Mass.) finished right behind Levesque, firing off an 80 with a match-high three birdies, while junior Brett Burmann (Bridgewater, Conn.) tallied nine pars to card an 82 on the afternoon.
Sophomores Mikey Rague (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) and Cameron Dillon (Braintree, Mass.) rounded out the Saints' scoring, turning in scorecards of 83 and 87, respectively.
Newbury senior Ray Lilley (Wallingford, Conn.) matched Levesque's 11 pars, carding an 84, while teammate, junior Stephen Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) was right behind. Responding from a rough start on the front nine, the Western Massachusetts native fired a two-over par 37 on the back to card a team-low of an 81.
The Nighthawks return to the links this Friday when they host the NECC Invitational at Wedgewood Pines Country Club at 12:00 PM The Saints will be back in action next Wednesday, when they meet the Nighthawks once against for a four-team quad-match at William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park at 12:00 PM.
