SAINTS CAPTURE 3RD IN FIRST HOME MATCH
DORCHESTER, Mass. – Suffolk University took team honors in Wednesday afternoon’s men’s golf quad match played at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. The Rams combined to shoot a 321 on the par 70, 5,967 yard course. Newbury College snagged second place with a team total of 329. The host Emmanuel College Saints notched a 341 for third place, while Daniel Webster College shot a 356 for the fourth place finish.

The Rams combined to shoot a 321 on the par 70, 5,967 yard course. Newbury College snagged second place with a team total of 329. The host Emmanuel College Saints notched a 341 for third place, while Daniel Webster College shot a 356 for the fourth place finish.
The Rams were led by Diego Schiffino (Santo Domino, D.R.), who earned individual medalist honors with his round of 76. Schiffino got help from Chris Taggart (Norwood, Mass.), who carded a 79, as one of four players to shoot in the 70's on the day.
Leading Newbury was David Hart (Keene, N.H.), who fired off a 78. Junior Stephen Peltier (Dalton, Mass.) shot an 81 for the Nighthawks.
Emmanuel was led by junior Brett Burmann's (Bridgewater, Conn.) 80. Sophomore Curtis Fraser (Hopkinton, N.H.) carded an 86 to score in his first collegiate match. Classmate Matteo Pocobene (Malden, Mass.) also turned in an 86. Despite an eagle on the par 5 11th hole, EC sophomore Jonathan Rogers (Lynnfield, Mass.) finished with an 89 to score fourth for the Saints.
Daniel Webster's Clint Goodwin (Lebanon, N.H.) led the Eagles with his 77. Ryan Lewis (Riverside, R.I.) scored second for DWC with his 88.
The Saints will be back in action next Wednesday, October 2nd, when they travel to Granby, Mass. to compete in the Elms College Fall Invitational, to be held at Westover Country Club. Emmanuel is slated to tee off at 10:40 AM.
