SAINTS COMPETE IN 1ST ANNUAL SEAN COLLIER INVITATIONAL
BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Track & Field Teams competed at MIT on Saturday afternoon in a meet honoring fallen MIT Police Officer Sean Collier. The Saints tore up the track, taking down two EC program records and busting out 13 top-five finishes. With just one regular season meet remaining, Emmanuel now has student-athletes qualified for the Division III New England Championships in 11 individual events, as well as on five relay teams.

The Saints tore up the track, taking down two EC program records and busting out 13 top-five finishes. With just one regular season meet remaining, Emmanuel now has student-athletes qualified for the Division III New England Championships in 11 individual events, as well as on five relay teams.
Junior Adam Julien (New Orleans, La.) sprinted to a 2nd place finish in his 200m race and his time of 22.29 both qualified him for the ECAC Championships and set a new Emmanuel College record. Sophomore Corey Hebert (Acushnet, Mass.) added his name to the EC record books, with his new Emmanuel record time of 10:52.40 in the 3k steeplechase.
For their fourth consecutive meet, Nate Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) and Ryan Thomas (Wakefield, R.I.) finished one-two in the men's 400mH. Bruno won the event with his time of 54.45. Thomas finished 2nd in 55.91. Thomas was also on the podium in the men's 110mH, placing 3rd with his personal best time of 15.70 and qualifying for the ECAC Championships. On the women's side, junior Chloe Egan (Burlington, Vt.) grabbed 5th place in the 400mH with her time of 73.40.
Also notable on the track, was sophomore Zoe Pierce-Dickens (Franklin, Vt.), who turned up the heat in the women's 400m. Pierce-Dickens ran her PR time of 61.34, garnering 6th place overall and qualifying for the Division III New England Championships.
Emmanuel's relay teams were stellar all around. The men's 4x400m team of Julien, Ben Perdue (West Springfield, Mass.), Thomas and Bruno won their event with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:19.83. Both the men's and women's 4x800m relay teams earned 2nd place finishes. For the men, Patrick Callan (Pawling, N.Y.), Tom Tallo (Lincoln, R.I.), Ian Chamenko (Beacon Falls, Conn.) and Chris Baker (Holden, Mass.) combined for a time of 8:16.89. The women's team of Molly Metivier (Keene, N.H.), Egan, Olivia Wakefield (Easton, Mass.) and Meaghan Mauer (South Hadley, Mass.) ran a Division III New England qualifying time of 10:34.67. Four EC sprinters combined for a 5th place finish in the women's 4x100m relay. The team of Shannon Gay (Woburn, Mass.), Micaela Fraccalossi (Plymouth, Mass.) and Katherine Zombik (Holyoke, Mass.) was anchored by Pierce-Dickens and turned in a combined time of 52.61.
The Saints also notched three top-five places in the field events. Freshman Ashley Brooks (Danvers, Mass.) hit her personal best of 5'1.75" in the high jump, earning 4th place and qualifying for the Division III New England Championships. Senior captain Kelly Ulf (Lunenburg, Mass.) reached 4'11.75 and grabbed 5th place overall. Senior Richard Morrow (Woodstock, Conn.) hurled the discus 66'8" for his personal record and 3rd place overall. Morrow's javelin throw, reaching 103'8", was also a PR on the day.
The Saints will return to action for one final regular season meet this Sunday, April 27th. Emmanuel will compete in the Regis College Invitational, set to begin at 10:00 AM.
