SAINTS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT

The Emmanuel College Athletic Department hosted its Annual Awards Night and Dessert Reception last weekend, celebrating the Saints success during the 2012-2013 athletic seasons. Student-athletes, coaches, supportive families and fans filled the gymnasium of Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center on Saturday evening, April 27th, for the annual athletic recognition night. The event featured award presentations by the head coaches of each of Emmanuel's varsity programs and spirit teams, as well as major award presentations by Saints staff and administrators. Emmanuel's food service division, Bon Appetit, provided a delectable buffet of dessert selections for all of the attendees.

2012 MEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team put together a landmark season in just the program’s fourth year as a varsity team. The Saints combined to break the program-records for team low score two different times during the season and an Emmanuel rookie set a new mark for individual low score. The Saints competed in seven different tournaments in 2012, culminating with the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at Blackstone National Golf Club on October 20th and 21st.

GOLF TEAM PLACES 7TH AT GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team wrapped up the 2012 season with a 7th place finish in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship. The two-day tournament was hosted by Anna Maria College and held at Blackstone National Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. The Saints combined for a 352 on Saturday and a 350 on Sunday for a two-day total of 702.

SAINTS SWING AWAY AT WESTFIELD STATE INVITE

The Emmanuel College Men’s Team competed in Westfield State University’s Invitational over the weekend. The nine-team tournament was played at Tekoa Country Club’s par 71, 6,421 yard course on Saturday afternoon. The Saints finished tied for 7th as a team, falling well short of Great Northeast Athletic Conference affiliate member University of Southern Maine, which took team honors on the day, finishing with a 308.

BURMAN SNAGS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS AGAIN

For the second-straight week, Emmanuel College sophomore Brett Burman was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week. Burman led the Saints to a two-day low total of 636 at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic over the Columbus Day weekend. Burman carded an 82 on the opening day and a three-over-par 74 on day two to lead the Saints with a two-day low of 156.

MEN'S GOLF BREAKS SINGLE-DAY LOW DURING DAY TWO OF USM CLASSIC

The Emmanuel College men’s golf team continued its best season in program history, firing a single day low of 314 during day 2 of the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic. The Saints enjoyed a solid two days, posting a 322 on day one to break the previous single day low of 325 in which they’d shot three times on the year before following it up with the 314 on day two of the tourney.

MEN'S GOLF TIES PROGRAM-LOW WITH SECOND PLACE SHOWING AT EC QUAD MATCH

For the third time this season, the Emmanuel College men’s golf team posted a record-low team total of 325 this afternoon in the EC Quad match played at Franklin Park Golf Course in Dorchester, Mass. Elms College placed first overall in the event with a team total of 307 while Suffolk University came in third, five strokes behind the Saints with a team total of 330. Daniel Webster College rounded out the four teams with a team score of 360.

BURMAN NAMED GNAC MEN'S GOLF ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Emmanuel College sophomore Brett Burman (Bridgewater, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.

MEN’S GOLF FINISHES 3RD AT ELMS INVITATIONAL

GRANBY, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team finished the day with a team score of 325 on Wednesday afternoon at the Elms College Blazers Invitational. The Saints tied their all-time program low score to take 3rd place out of 15 teams at the Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass. Elms College senior Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.), junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) and Rhode Island College’s Tim Leigh (Somerset, Mass.) each shot a one-over-par 73 to earn a triple share of individual medalist honors.

GOLF PLACES THIRD IN EC QUAD MATCH

The Emmanuel College golf team hosted its annual Quad match Thursday afternoon at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. The Saints carded a team score of 339 to finish in third place. Suffolk University captured first place in the match with a net score of 305 while Newbury College placed second with a score of 316. Rounding out the pack was Daniel Webster College finishing fourth with a team score of 357.

LEVESQUE NAMED GNAC GOLF ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Emmanuel College Freshman P.J. Levesque opened his collegiate golf career in fine fashion. Levesque led the Saints with an individual low score of 75 last Thursday and was subsequently named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golf Rookie of the Week.

ROOKIES PACE MEN’S GOLF TEAM WITH RECORD LOW SCORE

BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team opened the season with a tri-match at Putterham Meadows on Thursday afternoon, squaring off against Daniel Webster College and host Newbury College. The Nighthawks finished 1st on the day with a low team score of 323. The Saints finished just two strokes off the lead with a 325. Daniel Webster finished in third with a team total of 398.
