SAINTS SHINE AT SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC
MEDFORD, Mass. – Emmanuel’s Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams performed well in their second meet of the outdoor season. The Saints battled through the cold and wind at Tufts University’s Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon and EC was able to come away with six top-five finishes, two Division III New England qualifiers and two ECAC Championship qualifiers.

The Saints battled through the cold and wind at Tufts University's Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon and EC was able to come away with six top-five finishes, two Division III New England qualifiers and two ECAC Championship qualifiers.
Senior Nate Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) and junior Ryan Thomas (Wakefield, R.I.) posted several notable performances on the day. The two combined for 1st and 2nd place finishes, respectively in the men's 400mH. Bruno's time of 54.71 and Thomas' time of 55.42 were both ECAC Championship qualifiers. Bruno finished 5th in the 110mH with a time of 15.91 and Thomas took 6th with his time of 16.13. Thomas snagged a personal best time of 15.91 in the preliminaries to better his Division III New England qualifying time.
The duo would later team up with Chris Baker (Holden, Mass.) and Patrick Callan (Pawling, N.Y.) for a 1st place finish in the men's 4x400m relay, finishing in 3:29.09.
Freshman Katherine Zombik (Holyoke, Mass.) ran her personal best 100mH time, finishing in 16.88 and earning 6th place overall. Sophomore Zoe Pierce-Dickens (Franklin, Vt.) raced to a new PR in the 400m with her time of 64.35. Pierce Dickens and Zombik would also PR in the 200m, finishing in 28.67 and 31.82, respectively. Rookie Shannon Gay (Woburn, Mass.) topped the EC field in the 200m with her personal best time of 28.11.
Junior Chloe Egan (Burlington, Vt.) turned in a time of 74.06 in the women's 400mH to finish 7th overall. Sophomore distance runner Julie Roberts (Williamsburg, Mass.) notched her top collegiate time in the women's 5k, finishing in 20:21.56. Junior Christopher Connelly (Quincy, Mass.) turned in his PR time on the men's side, finishing the 5k in 17:08.40.
Senior captain Kelly Ulf (Lunenburg, Mass.) recorded another solid day in her field events. Ulf qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the long jump, finishing 2nd overall with a 16'6.50" jump. She also snagged 5th place in the high jump, launching herself 4'11".
The Saints are back in action this Saturday, April 5th, when they travel to Dartmouth, Mass for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
