EMMANUEL WELL REPRESENTED ON GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

WINTHROP, Mass. - A total of 822 student-athletes have been named to the 2014-15 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh earlier this week. Emmanuel College was well represented on the list with 109 representatives, a conference-best, making up 13.25% of the GNAC’s Academic All-Conference selections.

2014 MEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Golf Men's Golf program wrapped up its sixth season of varsity competition, enjoying a strong year with improvements throughout the entire roster. The Saints competed in a total of nine events including three two-day tournaments which were the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic , the 2014 ECAC DIII Championship and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship.

CANTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College men’s golf team recorded a two-day total of 642 at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship played over the weekend at Ponkapoag Golf Course.

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – Taking a nine-stroke lead into the final round, Trinity College captured the 2014 ECAC Division III New England Men’s Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass.

WORCESTER STATE TOPS FIELD IN GOLF QUAD MATCH

DORCHESTER, Mass. – Junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, Mass.) carded a 74 for medalist honors to lead the Worcester State University men’s golf team to a team score of 318 to top the field at Emmanuel College’s quad-match played at the par 70 Williams J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Wentworth Institute of Technology wasn’t far off the pace with a team score of 326 to finish second while Suffolk University combined for a 338 for a third place finish. The host Saints rounded out the field with a 348.

BUTLER NAMED GNAC MEN'S GOLF ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior John Butler has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week. Butler is playing in his first season of collegiate varsity golf. The Biddeford, Maine native’s performance in last week’s match earned him the conference’s top weekly honor for a first-year player.

MEN'S GOLF TEAM COMPETES IN SOUTHERN MAINE FALL CLASSIC

GORHAM, Maine – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team put together two consecutive rounds of solid team scoring at the two-day University of Southern Maine Fall Classic, played at Gorham Country Club on Sunday and Monday . The Saints combined to card a 330 on Sunday and wrapped up the tournament with a 327 on Monday to finished with a 657, falling into 7th place out of the nine competing programs. Endicott College won the Classic with a 598, while Southern Maine (601) and UMass Dartmouth (608) took the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

SAINTS TOP MITCHELL IN FIRST HOME MATCH OF THE SEASON

DORCHESTER, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team combined for a 342 to defeat Mitchell College in the Saints’ first home match of the season at William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Mitchell finished the day with a 363 to score second on the par 70 course.

SAINTS STRUGGLE AT ELMS INVITATIONAL

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team turned in a team total of 353 to finish 14th out of the 17 competing teams at the Elms College Blazers Fall Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints tacked on close to thirty strokes to their near program-record low score of 324 shot just last week at the Shennecossett Golf Course. The Rhode Island College Anchorman took the team honors with a 309 in the Blazers Invite.

SAINTS SPLIT IN PUTTERHAM TRI-MATCH

BROOKLINE, Mass. - Senior Cameron D’Agostino (Salisbury, Mass.) guided the Newbury College men's golf team to a season-low team score of 323, firing a season-best score of 79 to defeat Emmanuel College and Johnson State College on Friday afternoon. The visiting Saints finished second with a 335, while Johnson State was third, shooting a 433.

POCOBENE CARDS PROGRAM RECORD AS MEN’S GOLF DOWNS MITCHELL, DANIEL WEBSTER

GROTON, Conn. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team topped Daniel Webster College and Mitchell College on Wednesday afternoon in a tri-match hosted by the Mitchell Mariners at Shennecossett Golf Course. Junior captain Matteo Pocobene (Malden, Mass.) tied the Emmanuel program-record low score with his round of 74 on the day.

MEN’S GOLF FINISHES THIRD IN OPENING MATCH

BROOKLINE, Mass. - Babson College took team honors with a 315 in a local men’s golf tri-match, hosted by Newbury College at Putterham Meadows on Thursday afternoon. Emmanuel College finished third with a combined 360 in the Saints’ first match of the 2014 campaign. The host Nighthawks combined for a 337, twenty-three strokes behind the Beavers.

MEN'S GOLF SEASON PREVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf program enters its sixth season this fall, looking to improve on an already impressive 2013 season, which saw them finish tied for sixth at the GNAC Championship. The Saints will compete in nine events this fall, culminating in the two-day GNAC Tournament at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton on October 18-19.
