SAINTS STRUGGLE AT ELMS INVITATIONAL
CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Golf Team turned in a team total of 353 to finish 14th out of the 17 competing teams at the Elms College Blazers Fall Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints tacked on close to thirty strokes to their near program-record low score of 324 shot just last week at the Shennecossett Golf Course. The Rhode Island College Anchorman took the team honors with a 309 in the Blazers Invite.

The Rhode Island College Anchorman took the team honors with a 309 in the Blazers Invite.
The Saints featured two players shooting in the 80's and three in the 90's. Senior Brett Burmann (Bridgewater, Conn.) carded a team low score of 82 to top the Saints' scorecard. Junior captain Matteo Pocobene (Malden, Mass.) finished with an 87 on the day.
Junior Cameron Dillon (Braintree, Mass.) and senior John Butler (Biddeford, Me.) carded a pair of 92s to score third and fourth for EC. This was the first collegiate match for Butler, competing in his first season of varsity golf. Senior captain Michael Burgess (Milton, Mass.) finished with a 98 to round out the Emmanuel Saints.
The Men's Golf Team will be back in action this coming Monday, September 29th, when the Saints host their first of two home quad-matches, played this season at Franklin Park. This Monday, Emmanuel will host Suffolk University, Becker College and Mitchell College. Tee times are set begin at noon at William J. Devine Golf Course.
