Emmanuel senior Amanda Machado helped lead the Saints Women's Volleyball Team to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinals. In doing so, the Swansea, Mass. native set an Emmanuel program record and two GNAC records. In Emmanuel's quarterfinal win over Mount Ida College on November 4th, Machado anchored the Saints' defense in the backrow, gathering an Emmanuel match-record, 30 digs, in just three sets. The senior libero continued her phenomenal defense in the Saints' semifinal match at Rivier on November 6th. Machado broke her newly set Emmanuel record by collecting an incredible 40 digs in her four sets played. Machado's 40 digs also tied the GNAC record for digs in a match and set a new GNAC record for digs in a GNAC Tournament match. Subsequently, Machado was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team, as Emmanuel finished out the season at 17-14. Machado averaged 4.86 digs per set for the Saints this season. This year, Machado became the program's all-time leader in digs with 1,431 in her collegiate career.
