Emmanuel's sophomore middle hitter Rebecca Stanton has helped to lead the Saints to the program's 2nd appearance in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season tournament in the past decade. The Quincy, Massachusetts native led Emmanuel offensively this season, averaging 2.71 kills per set, while hitting .270 for the year. Stanton also dominated the net defensively, totaling 81 blocks this season, with 56 of them as solo blocks.
Stanton recently received 1st Team All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference honors, as she was ranked among the top hitters in the GNAC in both kills per set and hitting percentage. Stanton was named the GNAC's Player of the Week on September 21, 2009.
Stanton and the Saints will take on Plymouth State University in the opening round of the ECAC Tournament on Wednesday (11/11) at 6pm in Plymouth, N.H.
