WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS 3-0 CONTEST TO RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE

Providence, RI- RIC senior middle blocker Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) posted a match-high 12 kills and hit .458 as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team defeated Emmanuel College, 3-0 at The Murray Center on Tuesday night.
Emmanuel sophomore outside hitter Samantha Andazola (Queen Creek, AZ) posted six kills, while classmate libero Yun-Ting Lee (Cambridge, MA) registered a match-high 17 digs.
RIC (7-10) took an early lead in the first set and used a three-point run while Heidel was serving to increase the margin to eight, 19-11, before pulling away for the 25-15 decision.
Emmanuel put up a fight in the middle set as the frame was tied on several occasions. The Anchorwomen were trailing, 22-21, before getting a side out to tie the stanza for the last time. With Archer serving, RIC rattled off three straight points to win, 25-22.
In the final set, the hosts went on four and five-point runs while Heidel was serving to a earn a 25-13 win and close out the match.
The Saints will return home to host in-conference foe, Lasell College this Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
