CALLAHAN TO PLAY IN NEWVA SENIOR CLASSIC

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior Cara Callahan (Medway, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic this Sunday, December 7th.  Callahan, one of the tri-captains and a four-year starter on the Saints Women's Volleyball Team will represent EC and compete in the 2014 NEWVA Senior Classic.  The match will be hosted by UMass Boston and is slated to begin at 12:00 PM on Sunday.

Callahan, a standout as a defensive specialist and libero for the Saints, will graduate in May as the Emmanuel Women's Volleyball program's third all-time leader in digs, with a total of 1,514 over her impressive four-year career.  Callahan was one of four Emmanuel players named All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference following the 2014 campaign.  She wrapped up her stellar career ranking third among the conference's leaders in total digs (484), as well as ranking sixth in digs per game (3.93), during her senior season.

Callahan now finds herself among a handful of distinguished honorees from Emmanuel.  Past EC Saints to be invited to play in the NEWVA Senior Classic include: Yun-Ting Lee (2012), Rebecca Stanton (2011), Lindsey Parker (2008) and Amy Miklus (2006).
