BOSTON, Mass. – Senior libero Yun-Ting Lee (Keelung, Taiwan) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Volleyball Second Team All-Conference squad, it was announced earlier today by the conference office. This marks the second consecutive season that Lee has been honored by the conference as she was a Third Team selection last season in which she was also named the 2011 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Lee put together another impressive campaign, leading the Saints while ranking second in the GNAC with 509 digs. The senior averaged 4.67 digs per set which also ranked second in the conference only behind the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year, Giselle Cram-Ortiz, from Johnson & Wales University. Lee was Emmanuel's most consistent defensive player all season long, collecting 10 or more digs in 26 matches including 20 or more in nine contests. The libero posted a season-high of 35 digs on Sept. 8 against Babson College and finished the year with 21 aces, 15 assists and 13 kills.
Over her four-year career with the Saints, Lee appeared in 117 matches while playing in 386 sets. The libero will graduate holding the program record for career-digs, accumulating a remarkable 1,814 over her Emmanuel tenure. Lee became the all-time leader earlier this season when she surpassed her former teammate, Jenna Ross (Class of 2012), on Sept. 27 in a 3-2 victory over Eastern Nazarene.
The Saints capped the 2012 season with a 14-18 overall record while posting an 8-4 mark in GNAC action. EC earned a spot in the GNAC Quarterfinals as the No. 5 seed but fell to the No. 4 seed in Simmons College, 3-1, to end the season.
