TENNIS TEAM CRUISES TO 11TH WIN OF THE SEASON

NEWTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel Women's Tennis Team shutout host Mount Ida College, 9-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match played in Newton on Saturday afternoon. The Saints picked up straight-sets wins in a all six singles matches and earned three more points in the doubles action, enroute to the 9-0 win.
Freshman Alex Hadlock (Framinghm, Mass.) was the Saints' winner at No. 1 singles, playing in the top slot for the first time in her collegiate career. Sophomore Amanda Woznicki (Bristol, Conn.) earned the win at No. 2 singles. Junior Jenna Reid (Lincoln, R.I.) captured a 3rd singles win. Sophomore Jenny Konecnik (Sparta, N.J.) was victorious at No. 4 singles. The fifth and sixth singles points went to Emmanuel's Jenni Hewes (Cape Elizabeth, Me.) and Lexi Rogers (North Hampton, N.H.).
Hadlock and Hewes posted the first doubles win. Konecnik and Woznicki notched the win at second dubs, while Ried teamed up with Kelsey Barrasso (Nahant, Mass.) for a point at 3rd doubles.
With the victory, Emmanuel improves to 11-2 on the season and 6-2 in conference play. The Saints will host Lesley University in a non-conference match on Monday night (10/17). This is Emmanuel's final home match of the regular season. The Saints have earned the #3 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament and will face Mount Ida College this Wednesday evening. Emmanuel will host the Mustangs in a 5pm start on the Winsor School courts.
