BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman Daniela Tueme (South Easton, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. This marks the third time this season that a member of the Saints has been honored by the conference as sophomore Alex Hadlock (Framingham, Mass.) and senior Amanda Woznicki (Bristol, Conn.) were each tabbed as the Player of the Week earlier this season.
Last week, Tueme posted a pair of singles victories for the Saints including a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance out of the No. 6 singles slot against Mount Ida College in GNAC play. Later in the week, the South Easton, Mass. native picked up another singles win out of the No. 5 spot against her Curry College opponent.
On the year, the rookie is currently 8-2 overall in singles play to share the team-lead in wins.
The Saints will return to the court on Tuesday, October second when they host Rhode Island College at 6:30 PM at the Winsor Courts.
