BURGOS NAMED GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College junior Olivia Burgos (Newington, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time this season she has been honored by the conference, previously earning GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors back on the week of March 12.

This marks the second time this season she has been honored by the conference, previously earning GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors back on the week of March 12.
Burgos earns GNAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after a stellar outing last week for Emmanuel. Burgos posted a .692 batting average over four games for the Saints going 9-for-13, collecting six extra-base hits, including four home runs. The junior scored eight runs, drove in eight runs and combined for a 1.846 slugging percentage while also posting a .714 on base percentage. She also added a win in the circle, tossing three scoreless innings against Anna Maria, allowing just one hit while striking out two.
The Connecticut native has enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Saints by leading the squad with a .432 batting average through 30 games. She also leads the team in hits (41), runs (25), RBI (27), home runs (4), doubles (11), triples (2), on-base percentage (.455) and slugging percentage (.716). She has also compiled seven wins in the pitching circle while registering a 3.52 ERA.
Over her career, Burgos has posted a .322 batting average while registering seven wins from the pitching circle.
The Softball team returns to action on Wednesday, April 25 when they play host to Mount Ida College at 6:00 PM in more Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.
