KILCOYNE NAMED GNAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior pitcher Jill Kilcoyne (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks the fourth time during Kilcoyne's career that she's been named GNAC Pitcher of the Week, earning the honor once every year of her collegiate career.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior pitcher Jill Kilcoyne (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks the fourth time during Kilcoyne's career that she's been named GNAC Pitcher of the Week, earning the honor once every year of her collegiate career.
The senior posted a dominant performance for the Saints, going 3-0 in the circle with a 0.54 ERA over 13 innings of work to go along with 21 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .151 average. Kilcoyne opened the week with a win over Rivier in a five-inning, eight strikeout performance. She then tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Lasell marking the second straight season she's registered a no-hitter against the Lasers before earning another win in the second game of the doubleheader, hurling the first three innings.
The Worcester, Mass. native has been a force for Emmanuel throughout the spring, posting a 6-0 record in conference play and a 7-4 overall record with seven complete games. On the year, Kilcoyne has struck out 72 batters over 69 innings of work to average 7.23 K's per game which currently ranks third in the GNAC.
The Saints are currently 11-11 on the year while boasting an 8-2 mark in GNAC play. The squad returns to action on Wednesday, April 19 for another GNAC twinbill, taking on Anna Maria College on the road at 2:00 PM.
