SAINTS EARN FOUR SPOTS ON GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
BOSTON, Mass. - After a stellar season and a run to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship game, the Emmanuel College women's soccer team had four players named to GNAC All-Conference teams on Monday. Ari Cardillo (Richmond, Mass.) and Maggie Carey (Swampscott, Mass.) landed on the First Team, while Katelyn Fink (Sanford, Maine), and Tori LaRoche (Hudson, N.H.) received Second Team honors.

Ari Cardillo (Richmond, Mass.) and Maggie Carey (Swampscott, Mass.) landed on the First Team, while Katelyn Fink (Sanford, Maine), and Tori LaRoche (Hudson, N.H.) received Second Team honors.
Cardillo has acheived all-conference status in each of her four seasons at Emmanuel, including three First Team awards. The senior captain led a defensive group that posted 11 shutouts this season, along with a 0.87 goals against average. She also added an assist against MIT early in the year.
Cardillo's career comes to an end after 80 games played in a Saints uniform. She finishes tied for seventh all-time in games played and eighth all-time in games started (69). The three-time team MVP will graduate in the spring with degrees in chemistry and Spanish.
Carey, a junior captain for the Saints this year, also earned First Team honors after being a Second Team member last year. The Swampscott native scored three game-winning goals this season, including a golden goal in overtime of the GNAC semifinals at Johnson & Wales.
During her three years at Emmanuel, Carey has posted 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points over 67 games and will return as one of the team leaders in 2016.
Fink grabs a spot on the Second Team after coming on strong in the second half of her final season. The senior captain tallied seven goals and two assists for 16 points, with 14 of those points coming in the final eight games of the regular season.
The midfielder led the team in goals and points this season and will finish tied for third all-time in games played at Emmanuel with 83. Her 20 career goals place her in a tied for 12th on the all-time list, while her 50 points are good for 13th. With seven game-winning goals, including three this year, Fink finishes fourth on the all-time list.
LaRoche rounds out the four honorees for the Saints as the sophomore goalkeeper earns All-Conference honors for the first time in her career. The two-time GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week broke the Emmanuel record for consecutive scoreless minutes in goal twice this season, posting separate streaks of 534:00 and 571:09.
The breakout goalkeeper ranked first in the GNAC in save percentage (.872), wins (11), and shutouts (9), and second in goals against average (0.80). She set the single-season program records for goals against average, save percentage, and shutouts. The previous records were 1.16, .867, and seven shutouts.
Despite only playing two seasons as a Saints thus far, LaRoche has climbed into the all-time records in various categories. She ranks first with a 1.22 goals against average, second in shutouts (14), second with a .820 save percentage, fourth in wins (22), fourth all-time in games played in goal (45), fourth in minutes played in goal (3775:23), and sixth in saves (233).
Junior defender Alison MacDonald (Peabody, Mass.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
Emmanuel finished the year as the GNAC runner-up after posting an 11-8-3 overall record and an 8-2-1 record in GNAC play.
