HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams played a strong first half with an impressive performance by the AMCAT defense. The Saints took 10 shots in the first half with four on goal and no goals against. Anna Maria was unable to put together a scoring opportunity in the first half. The AMCATS found their first and only attempt in the 37th minute of play as sophomore forward, Emily Gorrivan (Windham, Maine) sent a shot towards goal that was saved by the Saints keeper, Victoria LaRoche (Hudson, N.H.). AMCAT goalkeeper, Kate Kneeland (Windham, Maine) came up with a huge save with 24 minutes left of play as Saint's offender, Courtney Freadman (Richmond, Mass.) broke away with the ball and forced Kneeland out of the net to make a diving save.
The Saints saw a strong scoring opportunity with 18 minutes remaining of regulation as senior forward Jess Dasilva (North Attleboro, Mass.) sent a powerful header towards the AMCAT net but it was knocked away by the crossbar. As the game was closing in and it looked as though the teams would be forced into overtime the Saints took advantage of a breakaway from the 25 yard line and buried the lone goal of the match to clinch the 1-0 conference victory.
Emmanuel finished the game with a commanding lead in statistics with 29 total shots to Anna Maria's one and eight corner kicks while AMC did not have any corner kick opportunities.

Second Half: With just seven minutes left to play Emmanuel's senior forward, Hannah Konicki (Milford, Conn.) took the ball on a breakaway from the 25 yard line putting it past Kneeland to tally the only goal of the game sending the Saints home with the 1-0 victory.
