CARR NAMED TO GNAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM

BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior Logan Carr (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse All-Conference Second Team, it was announced by the conference office. This honor marks just the second time in program history that a member from the Saints has earned All-Conference status as Carr joins sophomore Michaela Brennan (Worcester, Mass.) as the only two to garner the honor. Brennan was tabbed a member of the GNAC Second Team in 2011.
Carr enjoyed the most productive season in Saints lacrosse history, setting new program records for goals with 39 and total points with 49 while playing in and starting all 12 contests she appeared in. Her 39 goals ranked 16th overall in the GNAC while her overall point total ranked 18th among her conference peers. The attacker ended her senior campaign scoring in the final 11 games of her career including a program-record of eight goals on April 21 vs. Rivier College. Carr also led the Saints in draw controls with 55, ranking eight in the GNAC while her 3.7 draw controls per game rank 53rd among NCAA Division III women's lacrosse players. The Saratoga Springs, N.Y. native rounded out her final season with 42 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers. Around the goal, Carr was extremely efficient in the offensive third recording an .853 shots on goal percentage to go along with a .520 shooting percentage (39-75) to rank 11th in the conference among players with 30+ goals.
Carr was one of the integral members in helping get the Emmanuel women's lacrosse program off the ground last season and enjoyed an impressive two-year varsity career with the Saints. Carr will graduate holding the record for total points (89), goals (74), free position goals (26) and draw controls (92). She'll also graduate ranking second in assists with 15 and third in groundballs with 68. Over the two seasons, Carr played in 22 games starting every contest and incredibly scored in 21 of the 22 matches including multiple-goal outings in 19 games.
The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team wrapped up its second season of varsity competition with an overall record of 5-10, posting a 2-7 mark in GNAC play to earn their first-ever GNAC playoff berth as the \#8 seed in the 2012 conference tournament. The Saints would face \#1 Norwich in the Quarterfinals before ending their season to the eventual GNAC champions, 14-4 on April 24.
