WINTHROP, Mass. – Saints junior Isabella Thomas (Miami, Fla.) continued her strong play in goal this past week and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday. The nomination as the Goalie of the Week is Thomas's third of the 2024 campaign.
It was another two-win week for Thomas and the Saints with the junior goalie picking up her first win after matching a career-high with 13 saves in a victory at New England College. Thomas and the Saints moved into the GNAC Postseason and won their quarterfinal game against Lasell with Thomas allowing just four goals.
Thomas and the Saints are 14-4 as the netminder has played every minutes of the 1,080 minutes in goal this season. She ranks second all-time in single-season wins in program history and, with an 8.50 GAA, would become the second player in team history with a season-long GAA under 10.00.
The Saints return to play on Tuesday, April 30, welcoming the No. 3 North-seeded Colby-Sawyer Chargers to Clemente Field for the GNAC Semifinals. Winner of Tuesday's meetings heads for the GNAC Championship to face either No. 1 South-seeded Johnson & Wales or No. 2 North-seeded Saint Joseph's College.
