Saef, Crowley & Steele Sweep GNAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors
BOSTON, Mass. – Women’s Lacrosse senior Emily Saef (Moultonborough, N.H.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week while junior Emma Crowley (Peterborough, N.H.) has been named the GNAC Goalie of the Week and sophomore Megan Steele (Auburn, Maine) has been named the GNAC Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Saef helped Emmanuel open the 2021 campaign with a big 2-0 week, collecting eight points on four goals and four assists. The senior matched a career-high with seven points in the Saints' 21-10 win over Lasell, scoring three to go along with a career-high four assists while adding a career-high 12 draw controls. She followed it with six draw controls, a goal, groundball and a caused turnover in EC's 15-13 win over JWU.
Through two games in the 2021 campaign, the former GNAC Rookie of the Year leads the Saints while ranking tied for eighth in the GNAC with eight total points.
Over her career, the Moultonborough, New Hampshire native has played in and started 19 games at Emmanuel, collecting 64 points on 49 goals and 15 assists.
Crowley posted two wins in net over tough GNAC matchups vs. Lasell and Johnson & Wales. Over the two games, the N.H. native made 23 saves, posting an 11.50 goals against average and 45.2 save percentage. Crowley made several key saves in a tight 15-13 win over JWU, finished the afternoon with a career-high 12 stops.
Through two contests, Crowley remains unbeaten with a 45.2 save percentage on 19 saves to rank second in the GNAC.
During her Emmanuel tenure, Crowley is a perfect 3-0 in goal with 32 saves, a 45.8 save percentage and an 10.67 goals against average.
Steele played a key role in Emmanuel's 2-0 week with seven points on six goals and one assist. She opened the action with two goals in a 21-10 win over Lasell, adding one groundball and one caused turnover. The Auburn, Maine native played a huge role in the Saints' 15-13 win over JWU, scoring four goals and adding an assist while also recording one draw control, one caused turnover and one groundball.
To start the year, Steele ranks tied for seventh in the GNAC with seven points (6 goals, 1 assist) and over her career with the Saints has eight points on seven goals and one helper.
The Saints are currently 2-0 on the season marking the best start since 2015 when they also opened the year with a pair of victories. EC returns to action on Wednesday, March 31 when they travel to Paxton, Mass. to take on Anna Maria College at 6:00 PM in GNAC action.
