BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior middie Savannah Lundwall (Fiskdale, Mass.) earned Women's Lacrosse Corvias Player of the Week honors, as announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior middie Savannah Lundwall (Fiskdale, Mass.) earned Women's Lacrosse Corvias Player of the Week honors, as announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon.
The senior tallied 15 points in a 2-1 week for the Saints including 2-0 in GNAC play. Lundwall opened the week with a four-goal outing in a 19-1 GNAC victory over University of Saint Joseph (CT). The Fiskdale, Mass. native closed out the week with a career-best seven goal evening in an 11-9 GNAC road win over Norwich. She added four assists in non-conference play against Salem State and on the week posted 22 draw control wins and 15 groundballs.
Lundwall ranks first on the team in goals (29), draw control wins (52), groundballs (27), caused turnovers, second in points (40) and third in assists (11). She is currently ranked fourth in the GNAC in caused turnovers and fifth in the GNAC in draw control wins.
Over her career Lundwall has compiled 92 points on 71 goals and 21 assists, won 179 draw controls, collected 159 groundballs and caused 89 turnovers.
The Saints return to action on Thursday, April 27 evening when they play host to Saint Joseph's College (ME) in GNAC action slated for 7:00 PM at Roberto Clemente Field. Prior to the start of the game, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department will honor the six senior members of this year's team in a brief "Senior Day" ceremony.
