BOSTON, Mass. – Junior goalie Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week, after leading Emmanuel to a 3-0 week with wins over the University of Saint Joseph, Regis College and Norwich University. White played all 180 minutes in net last week for the Saints and tallied 21 saves in her three games played.
This is White's sixth GNAC Goalie of the Week selection, as she received the honor three times last year and twice as a freshman back in 2013. She has been honored by the conference several times over her career, also being named to the GNAC Tournament's Most Valuable Player and a 2nd Team All-Conference selection in 2014.
White's most recent weekly honor came after improving her record in goal to 6-1 on the season and extending the Saints' current win-streak to four games. White stopped 12 shots, a season-high in saves, and picked up a team-high seven groundballs in EC's hard-fought win over Regis last Thursday night.
White and the Saints are currently in second place in the conference standings at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in GNAC action. The defending GNAC Champions will take to the field again on Tuesday night, March 31st, when Emmanuel hosts Framingham State University in a 7:00 PM start. The Saints will then battle Simmons College in a Colleges of the Fenway (COF) rivalry on Saturday on Clemente Field at noon.
