AS A SOPHOMORE ... Higgins began her second dual-sport year at Emmanuel, playing for the EC Women's Basketball Team in the winter and the Women's Lacrosse Team in the spring ... was named a GNAC 3rd Team All-Conference selection in basketball ... Started in 16 of the Saints' 17 lacrosse games ... Ranked 2nd on the team in scoring, netting 44 goals on the year ... Dished out 10 assists for a total of 54 points ... Led the team defensively with 70 groundballs and 38 caused turnovers ... Won a team-best 68 draw controls ... Tallied an 81.7% shots-on-goal percentage with 76 of her 93 shots landing on target ... Netted 7-19 free position shots ... Posted two-consecutive 5-goal games (in a 15-14 win at Saint Joseph's and in a 13-12 win over Lasell) ... Recorded four 4-goal games ... Earned a spot on the GNAC Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team ... Was Voted GNAC 1st Team All-Conference ... AS A FRESHMAN ... Higgins played both basketball and lacrosse as a rookie for the Saints ...Started in 10 of her 13 games as a midfielder on the lacrosse team ... Netted 25 goals to rank second on the squad in goals scored ... Dished out 9 assists for a total of 34 points on the year ... went 6 for 9 on free position attempts ... Recorded 54 groundballs to rank 2nd on the Saints in this category ... Won 52 draw controls ... Caused a team-best 34 turnovers ... Took a total of 55 shots, landing 43 of them on-target for a 78.2% shots-on-goal percentage ... Was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll on April 8, 2013 ...notched seven multi-goal games as a rookie, including two four-goal performances in games vs. Norwich and Emerson ... helped lead the Saints to a program-record 9-win season and an appearance in the GNAC Tournament ... On the basketball court, Higgins appeared in 24 games during her rookie campaign, averaging 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds … Scored in double-figures twice, notching 12 points against University of Saint Joseph (CT) in the GNAC Quarterfinals as well as 12 points against University of Rochester in the first round of the NCAA Tournament … Grabbed a season-best 11 rebounds in a win on December 6 vs. Salem State University … Wrapped up the year with 84 points, 57 rebounds, 21 steals, 16 assists and three blocks.
