BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week for the week ending on April 7, it was announced by the conference office.
The rookie goalie led the Saints to a 2-0 week, posting a combined 22 saves in wins over Norwich University (13-7) and Mount Ida College (8-6). White registered a .629 save percentage over 120 minutes played, allowing just 13 goals (6.5 goals per game) while recording six ground balls over the two games.
White has been a mainstay in net for Emmanuel, playing all 546 minutes on the year for the Saints. The Lynnfield, Mass. native has made 84 saves on the year and currently boasts a .467 save percentage to rank tied for first in the GNAC among goalies having played more than 300 minutes on the year. White has posted seven victories on the year, a single-season program record.
With their 13-12 victory yesterday afternoon against Rivier University, the Saints continue to extend their best start in the program's history with a 7-2 record. Emmanuel is just one win away from matching the win total from its previous two seasons combined and will look to stay perfect at Clemente Field on Wednesday evening when they host Saint Joseph's College (Maine) at 7:00 PM.
