RAMIREZ-TEJEDA & FOX GARNER END OF YEAR HONORS
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (South Boston, Mass.) and senior guard Alisha Fox (National Park, N.J.) have been selected to the 2017-18 GNAC Women's Basketball All-Conference teams, it was announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. Ramirez-Tejeda makes her first appearance on the All-Conference team with First Team honors while Fox garners Third Team accolades for the second straight year. Ramirez-Tejeda has also been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team for the Division III Northeast District.

Ramirez-Tejeda makes her first appearance on the All-Conference team with First Team honors while Fox garners Third Team accolades for the second straight year. Ramirez-Tejeda has also been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team for the Division III Northeast District.
Ramirez-Tejeda enjoyed a wildly successful campaign after transferring into Emmanuel from Division I Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, averaging a team-best 15.2 points per game while ranking 10th overall in the GNAC in scoring. The sophomore also led Emmanuel while ranking sixth in the GNAC in rebounds averaging 9.7 boards per game. The South Boston, Mass. native posted 12 double-doubles this year while also averaging 2.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game.
During her first year with the program, Ramirez-Tejeda was tabbed the GNAC Player of the Week once in February while also earned seven GNAC Weekly Honor Roll nods to go along with two NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll selections. She was selected to the EC Tip Off All-Tournament team and ended the year with 411 points, the highest single-season point total by an Emmanuel player since 2015.
A criminal justice major with a 4.0 GPA, Ramirez-Tejeda is one of four GNAC players – Breanna Muir (Mount Ida), Kelsey McNamara (Saint Joseph's ME), and Raquel Pederzani (JWU) are the others - to earn the CoSIDA academic honor. First team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Fox registers Third Team honors for the second straight season. She ranked second on the team in scoring behind Ramirez-Tejeda averaging 11.4 points per game and ranked sixth in the GNAC with 65 total steals. Fox was a big key to the Saints defensive success as one of the main cogs in the Emmanuel full-court pressure system. She posted 17 games with double-figures including 11 games over the final month of the season earning her GNAC Weekly Honor Roll mentions twice.
Over three years with the Saints, Fox established herself as a dependable member of the backcourt unit by appearing in 83 games. She's recorded 750 points at Emmanuel to go along with 147 steals, 142 rebounds, and 133 assists.
Junior center Mary McCarthy (Scituate, Mass.) represented Emmanuel on the 2018 GNAC All-Sportsmanship team while sophomore guard Kayla Weaver (West Haven, Conn.) earned GNAC All-Tournament team honors.
Emmanuel ended the 2017-18 campaign with an overall record of 20-7, marking the 23rd time in program history the team posted a 20+ win season. During the season, Head Coach Andy Yosinoff posted his 800th career victory and will enter the 2018-19 campaign just seven wins shy of setting the new Division III record for career wins at 815.
