RAMIREZ-TEJEDA NAMED GNAC WOMEN’S HOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (South Boston, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (South Boston, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Last week, Ramirez-Tejeda helped lift the Saints to a 3-0 record with key victories over Suffolk University and Johnson & Wales University as well as a win over Simmons College. The sophomore recorded a double-double in all three victories finishing the week averaging 17.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per game while also shooting 55.6 % from the floor.
In addition to her GNAC honor, Ramirez-Tejeda was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Weekly Honor Roll for her stellar play last week.
On the year, Ramirez-Tejeda is averaging 15.5 points and 10.0 rebound per game to lead the team in both categories and is one of only five players averaging double-figures in both points and rebounds. She currently ranks fifth in the GNAC in rebounding and 10th overall in scoring.
Emmanuel is currently 15-6 overall on the year and 11-1 in GNAC play. The Saints are riding an 11-game winning streak and return to action tomorrow evening when they head to Newton, Mass. to take on Lasell College at 7:00 PM.
