Simmons took a 5-2 lead early in the first half off a jumper by Liz O'Connor (Milton, Mass.) and a Hannah May (Hamden, Conn.) three-pointer. The Saints found the net less than 20 seconds later off jump shots by Jennifer Bujnowski (Salem, N.H.) and Britni Mikulanecz (Portland, Me.) and Emmanuel never trailed again.
The Saints shot 41.9% (26-62) from the floor with Bujnowski leading all scorers with 12 points. Junior forward Liz Daley (Sharon, Mass.) added 11 points, while senior forward Fiona O'Dwyer (Stamford, Conn.) and freshman Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) each added nine.
Trailing by twenty-seven, 37-10, at the break, the Sharks played a strong second stanza with freshman Jen Janiak (Chelmsford, Mass.) hitting two three-pointers. However, the Saints were relentless with Higgins providing a spark off the bench to score seven points and Laura Benvenuto (Wyckoff, N.J.) adding seven of her own, as the visitors cruised to the win.
With the 66-31 victory, the Saints extend their GNAC win streak to 38 games. Emmanuel has not suffered a conference loss since the 2009-10 season.
