Bio

Coach Lam joined the Emmanuel staff in the winter of 2014-15 as the Assistant Coach for the Saints Men’s Volleyball Team.  Lam did her undergraduate work at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she played Division I volleyball for the Owls from 2007-2010.  A three-time Conference USA Libero of the Year, Lam led the Owls to the program’s first conference championship and to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Lam captained the Rice squad as a senior and was ranked atop Conference USA in digs, while also ranking in the Top 30 nationally for three years.  Lam holds the Rice University program-record for career digs (2,399), as well as the top three records for single-season digs.  She earned Conference USA All-Academic honors for three-straight years and was a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention.

Coach Lam earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Asian Studies from Rice in 2011.  She is currently enrolled in Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, working toward her Master’s Degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Political and Economic Development.

As a coach, Lam served as an assistant coach for the Rice University men’s club team from 2010-2011.  Later, she became the head coach for the San Francisco Juniors from 2011-2012.

When asked about Coach Lam, Emmanuel College Director of Athletics Pam Roecker stated, "Tracey is one of the most impressive young women that I have ever met and I am thrilled that she will be assisting our Saints Men's Volleyball program."  Lam's former Rice University Head Coach Ginny Volpe, commented, "You are not going to find a better person out there!  Tracey is phenomenal...hard-working, extremely bright, honest, humble and I recommend her without ANY reservation.  She is a tremendous addition to the Emmanuel program."
