MEN'S VOLLEYBALL NABS 3-0 WIN AT ELMS
CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team cruised in straight sets over Elms College (Mass.), 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-14), in a non-conference match at Picknelly Arena Tuesday night.

The Blazers were paced offensively by freshman outside hitter Gabriel Reis Levy (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) with a game-high nine kills, along with three digs and three blocks. Freshman outside hitter Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) added five kills and six digs, while sophomore middle hitter Austin DeCosmo(Southwick, Mass.) tallied three kills and two blocks. Senior setter Kevin Welsh (Wilbraham, Mass.) dished out a team-high 18 assists with seven digs and two kills in the loss.
Emmanuel had 11 players register a kill during the match, led by six kills from senior middle hitterWyatt Cooper (Ridgefield, Conn.). Senior outside hitter Zach Whitermore (Whitehall, Pa.) and senior opposite Ryan Kessler (Santa Clarita, Calif.) each added five kills, while senior outside hitter Ashanti Jackson (Sacramento, Calif.) and junior middle hitter Julian Hess (Santa Monica, Calif.) each had four kills apiece. Senior setter Sean Baxley (Saint James, N.Y.) notched a game-high 28 assists with three digs.
The win marks the first head coaching victory at Emmanuel for first-year head coach Bori May.
The Blazers dropped to 2-5 on the season, while Emmanuel recorded their first win, moving to 1-1 overall. Elms returns to action this weekend at the Keuka College Invitational, opening against SUNYIT Friday night at 6:00 p.m. Emmanuel travels to MIT on February 10th for a 7:00 p.m. game.
